When Accountability Crosses a Boundary
Records that prove each local action can still leave the end-to-end harm unprovable. We study when accountability survives composition—and when no later verifier can recover it.
One workflow, three owners, no usable proof
An agent authorizes a payment through one provider, a broker rewrites the request, and a third organization executes it. Each system produces a locally valid log. After the harm, the actor is gone, the broker omits one transition, and the executor points to its own compliant record. No surviving party can prove the end-to-end event or reach a remedy. Local receipts existed; the evidence path did not.

When does accountability survive composition across owners?
A candidate lower bound asks which independently persistent witnesses must cross a causal cut before later challenge is possible.
What coherence results survive beyond vector spaces?
Tarski Coherence moves to lattices and monotone maps, with forty-three machine-checked theorems and an external-review gate.
Can structural signals predict real execution failure?
BABEL v2 will answer only with independently authored workflows and held-out execution labels. No external evidence exists yet.
